Psychological Therapy

This practice offers a contained and reflective space for psychological work that unfolds over time.

The focus is not on rapid resolution, but on understanding how patterns develop, persist, and can begin to shift when they are brought into sustained awareness within a therapeutic relationship.

Sessions are structured, unhurried, and guided by clinical attentiveness to depth.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

I offer ongoing individual psychotherapy for adults.

This work may be suited to those experiencing persistent internal tension, relational complexity, or a sense that previous ways of coping are no longer sufficient.

Presentations often include, but are not limited to:

  • Chronic states of tension, overwhelm, or depletion

  • Depressive or emotionally flattened states

  • Experiences rooted in developmental or relational trauma

  • Patterns of over-responsibility or sustained self-neglect

  • Difficulties in intimacy, attachment, or relationships

  • Periods of psychological transition

  • The psychological impact of chronic stress or illness

The emphasis is not on symptom categorisation, but on how experience is organised internally and relationally, and how it is maintained over time.

COMPLEX AND ENDURING PATTERNS

Some individuals seek therapy not for a single difficulty, but for enduring patterns that have proven resistant to change.

These may present as:

  • Repetitive relational dynamics that feel difficult to change

  • A sustained difficulty accessing internal safety or ease

  • Chronic self-criticism, control, or perfectionism

  • Emotional constriction, disconnection, or dissociative patterns

  • A persistent sense of carrying more than one’s share of emotional responsibility

Work in this space is typically slower in pace and more reflective in nature. It involves increasing capacity for awareness, tolerating internal experience, and allowing previously fixed patterns to become more flexible over time.

STRUCTURE OF SESSIONS

Sessions are 50 minutes in duration and are offered from Dunsborough online across Australia.

The frequency of meetings is established collaboratively and most often occurs weekly or fortnightly, depending on clinical appropriateness and availability.

Initial sessions are devoted to understanding your history, current circumstances, and the nature of what has brought you to seek support at this time. From there, the work develops gradually, rather than following a predetermined structure.

It is not necessary to arrive with clarity. Meaning often emerges within the process itself.

THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION

This practice draws primarily from depth-oriented psychotherapy, attachment-informed understanding, trauma-aware and somatically attuned approaches, and relational models of therapeutic work.

Rather than applying a fixed methodology, the work is guided by what becomes clinically meaningful within the therapeutic relationship over time.

Further information about the underlying framework can be found on the About page

FEES

$300 per 50 minute session.

Where eligible, Medicare rebates may apply with a valid referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan.

ENGAGEMENT

This is a space for deep psychological inquiry rather than brief intervention or crisis containment.
