Clinical & Reflective Supervision

Reflective clinical supervision for practitioners working in mental health and related fields who seek a thoughtful space to deepen their practice.

Supervision provides an opportunity to step back from the immediacy of clinical work and consider what is happening within the therapeutic relationship, within the work itself, and within the practitioner.

The focus is not solely on what to do next, but on developing a deeper understanding of how clinical patterns emerge, what may be occurring beneath the surface, and how our own ways of seeing and responding shape practice.

REFLECTIVE PRACTICE

I approach supervision as a collaborative process grounded in clinical thinking, reflection and relational awareness.

Alongside formulation, intervention, ethics and professional practice, supervision may explore therapeutic impasses, uncertainty, emotional responses, relational dynamics and the experience of being the clinician.

The intention is not to prescribe a particular way of working, but to support thoughtful clinical judgement, greater self-awareness and intentional practice.

AREAS OF INTEREST

My approach draws on clinical psychology, reflective and reflexive practice, relational and attachment-informed perspectives, trauma-aware approaches and schema-informed thinking.

I have particular interests in complex and enduring patterns, therapeutic relationships, schema-informed practice and the development of sustainable professional practice.

Supervision may be particularly suited to practitioners who value depth and reflection and want space to think carefully about their clinical work, rather than focusing solely on technique or problem-solving.

THE SUPERVISORY SPACE

Sessions are individual and offered via telehealth.

There is no requirement to arrive with a perfectly formulated question. A case, clinical difficulty, therapeutic interaction or professional dilemma can provide the starting point for exploration.

Supervision is distinct from personal therapy. Where personal responses become relevant to clinical practice, they may be considered from a professional and reflective perspective.

The aim is not simply to accumulate more knowledge, but to cultivate a deeper capacity to notice, think, reflect and respond.
